The Cardus Education Survey (CES) aims to go beyond the politics to understand the building blocks of society itself. What are the conditions for student flourishing? Where do students learn to respect and love one another and others? How can we scale these lessons to maximize their potential for democratic citizenship?

Orima Research
SURVEY COMPANY
The Cardus Education Survey Australia project team sought to engage an independent, well regarded public research company to coordinate, administer and undertake the survey in Australia. After exploring a range of options, Orima Research was selected.
Orima Research are Australia’s largest provider of research, evaluation and data analytics services to the public and not-for-profit sector. Orima bring over 20 years of experience to every project they undertake and have been delivering research solutions and a now well-proven track record to the Australian public sector since their inception in 1997. They have a commitment to best practice which contributes to superior strategy development, implementation and evaluation.
Orima take seriously all measures of privacy, ethical standards and data security and their data servers are located in Australia and protected by the most stringent security protocols in the industry. Orima are also the only firm in the research industry with our own NHMRC registered HREC. They are an AS ISO 20252 accredited company and have been particularly active in advocating for quality approaches within the research industry. They are passionate about supporting evidence-based decisions and believe supporting informed decision making with high quality research is a key way we can make a positive difference.
The survey utilized a randomized nationally representative sample size range of 9000 (with a respondent sample of 4913) and adopted a dual paneling processes – online surveys (n = 4913) AND CATI (Computer assisted telephone interviews) (n= 1000) which were considered the “GOLD” standard for robustness and reliability of findings. The size of this sample provided statistically significant data sets across all fields.
